When students bring home a book in English to their parents who speak another language, that child and their family are missing out on a valuable family experience. When new arrivals are already strong readers in their heritage language, providing resources for them can help them feel included. If they can read the same books as their new classmates, it becomes an opportunity to bring a true sense of belonging.
